How to use Sharefeed, Bit.ly sidebar and Hootlet on iPad
I love ipad for reading articles but I miss all the bookmark tools like Sharefeed and bit.ly sidebar tool. They make scheduling tweets and sharing links so easy! So here is a workaround to use Sharefeed, bit.ly and hootlet in my iPad browser using their bookmark let code.
Add Sharefeed to your bookmark bar.
- Create a bookmark called 'Save to Drafts+' and save it in the bookmark bar. It does not matter what page you are in, we are going to replace the URL.
- Now go back under bookmarks (using open book icon) and click bookmarks bar.
- Once under the bookmark bar menu, edit and click the arrow for 'Save to Drafts+'.
- Copy the JavaScript code below.
- Now, delete the existing URL and paste the above URL you just copied.
- Hit the bookmarks button to go back and hit done.
- Now you will see the save to drafts bookmark in your bookmark bar. Use it just like you would in your pc or Mac browser.
Add bit.ly sidebar.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 (instead of 'Save to Drafts' call it bit.ly). On step 4 copy the bit.ly code given below and repeat steps 5 to 7. Bit.ly code:
Add Hootlet.
You can do the same for hootlet from Hootsuite. Here is the code:
Add Google Reader's 'Next'.
To add google reader's next to the bookmarkbar, log into your google reader. Go to the bottom, change the view to desktop from mobile. Now go under 'Settings' and select 'Reader settings'. Pick the goodies tab and right click (click and hold) on 'Next" under the Put reader in bookmark section. Copy, create a new book mark for google reader and paste it in the URL box.
